Why UltraColour PRO

Built for reliability when your customer's brand is on the line.

When you're decorating uniforms, teamwear, or corporate merch in volume, the margin for error is zero. A failed transfer means a ruined garment, a callback, and a damaged relationship. PRO is engineered so that doesn't happen.

  • Printed on an HP Indigo 7800 for superior colour control and brand-accurate output
  • Screen-printed polyurethane white base — thicker than standard DTF, dramatically more durable
  • Purpose-built blocker options for dye migration on technical polyesters and sublimated fabrics
  • Square-cut, ready-to-press — consistent results, every single reorder
  • Ideal for 20+ units; becomes more cost-effective as volume increases
The Hybrid Construction

Digital precision. Screen-print strength.

PRO is built in layers — CMYK digitally printed on HP Indigo, then a thick polyurethane white base screen-printed over the top, finished with premium Bostik glue powder for superior adhesion on fine detail. Both PRO and standard DTF bond to the garment the same way, but PRO's screen-printed base gives it significantly more body — less cracking, better colour endurance, and performance that holds up through hard-wearing applications and repeated washing.

  • Brighter whites — the screen-printed base prevents garment colour from bleeding through the print
  • Superior colour endurance — more body means the print holds its vibrancy wash after wash
  • Less cracking over time — thicker construction is more resistant to the flexing and friction of hard-wearing applications
  • Premium Bostik glue — fine particle size for exceptional adherence to fine detail, no filler additives that break down under heat
Six Reasons to Choose PRO

Engineered for the jobs
where failure isn't an option.

Standard DTF works brilliantly for many applications. But when you're running bulk orders on technical fabrics, or you need colour consistency across sites and seasons — PRO is built for that.

Hybrid Print Technology

Digital CMYK on HP Indigo combined with a screen-printed white base. The only heat transfer that gives you both digital detail and screen-print durability.

Real Dye-Blocking System

Three purpose-built blocker options stop colour migration on heavily dyed synthetics, sublimated jerseys, and softshell outerwear. Not a workaround — an engineered solution.

Truer to Colour

HP Indigo delivers CMYK colour accuracy that roll-based DTF printers can't match. Your logo looks the same this run as it did last run — critical for corporate accounts.

Ready-to-Press

Square-cut transfers supplied in packs with spares for test pressing. No cutting, no gang sheet prep. Pick up and press.

Consistency at Scale

Controlled production with verified materials. Every reorder matches the previous job exactly — no drift, no surprises, no rebuilding artwork from scratch.

Expert Guidance

Not sure if PRO is right for your garment? We'll tell you — including when it's not. Established 2006, we've already seen the problems you're about to hit.

UltraColour PRO Blocker System

Blockers that keep colours clean.
Even on the tricky stuff.

Dye migration is one of the biggest causes of mystery discolouration after pressing — especially on polyester, sublimated garments, and technical outerwear. UltraColour PRO is the only heat transfer that lets you add a purpose-built blocker for the job.

What happens without a blocker?

The heat from pressing reactivates dye inside the fabric. That dye pushes up into your transfer, causing discolouration that appears immediately — or develops over the following weeks. Once it happens, there is no fix. You reprint. The garment is a write-off.

Whites turn grey on black polyester
Light logos shift pink on dyed reds
Sublimated stripes ghost through the print
Soft shell develops black speckling weeks later
Dye Blocker

For Heavily Dyed Polyesters

Performance PolyesterWorkwearDark Fabrics

Built for heavily dyed synthetic fabrics — especially black and dark-coloured performance polyesters. Not always required, but a smart insurance policy when you need peace of mind on dyed garments.

Without it: Whites can turn grey on black poly. Light logos can shift pink on dyed reds. White elements may yellow over time on hot dyes.
Sublimation Blocker

For Sublimated Garments

Sports JerseysFishing ShirtsSublimated Activewear

Sublimation dye is heat-activated. Pressing reactivates it and pushes colour into the transfer — especially on patterned or striped garments. This blocker stops that from happening.

Without it: Stripes and patterns ghost through lighter print areas. Most noticeable on light or white logos — and there is no fix once it happens.
Soft Shell Blocker

For Technical Outerwear

Soft Shell JacketsTech OuterwearCoated Fabrics

Designed for coated technical outerwear. The risk here is that soft shell can look perfect at pressing — then deteriorate over the following weeks as the coating reacts with the transfer.

Without it: Black dots appear after a few weeks and gradually spread (often mistaken for mould). High risk for customer jobs — returns land on you.

PRO vs Standard DTF

Why professionals switch from standard DTF to PRO.

Standard DTF is a great tool for many jobs. But once you're running volume on performance fabrics, or you've been burnt by dye migration, it stops being good enough. Here's how PRO compares.

Behind the Scenes

How PRO is made vs standard DTF

UltraColour PROHybrid digital + screen print
HP Indigo CMYK — superior colour control and brand accuracy
Screen-printed polyurethane white base — dramatically more durable
Purpose-built blockers for dye migration — an engineered solution
Consistent reorder matching — controlled production, verified materials
Square-cut ready-to-press individual transfers — spares included for testing
Hot or cold peel options — choose based on garment and workflow
20+ unit MOQ — ideal for bulk, uniforms, and corporate programmes
VS
Standard DTFRoll-printed digital transfer
Roll DTF printer — colour consistency depends on calibration
Thinner adhesive powder base — more prone to cracking over time
No blocker option — dye migration on tech polyester is a real risk
Reorder variation acknowledged by most suppliers as unavoidable
Gang sheets — requires cutting, nesting, or manual layout
Typically warm peel only — less flexibility by garment type
Most providers only sell by the metre — no individual transfer pricing

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before you order.

It depends on the fabric type. Dye Blocker is for heavily dyed performance polyester — especially dark-coloured workwear and outdoor gear. Sublimation Blocker is for any garment that has been sublimation printed — sports jerseys, fishing shirts, and patterned activewear. Soft Shell Blocker is for coated technical outerwear with a soft shell finish. If you're not sure, reach out before ordering — we'd rather help you get it right first time than deal with a failed job after pressing.
MAX is our DTF transfer — no minimums, vibrant colour, lightweight feel. It's ideal for short runs, samples, personalisation, and variable jobs. PRO is our hybrid transfer — printed on HP Indigo with a screen-printed white base, offering superior durability, blocker options for technical fabrics, and more consistent colour accuracy at scale. If you're decorating 20+ units on performance fabrics or uniforms, PRO is the better choice. If you need 1–19 units quickly, or you're printing onto standard cotton, MAX is the smarter option.
Yes, absolutely. PRO works great on cotton. You don't need a blocker on cotton garments — blockers are only required for polyester and technical fabrics prone to dye migration. On cotton, you'll get excellent colour vibrancy, clean whites, and strong wash durability.
Extremely consistent. PRO is produced on an HP Indigo with controlled colour profiles, which gives us far better reorder matching than roll-based DTF printers. Your artwork files and production profiles are retained, so reorders reproduce accurately without requiring you to send artwork again or rebuild anything from scratch.
For standard PRO transfers, the minimum order is 10 units. For PRO with a blocker upgrade (Dye, Sublimation, or Soft Shell), the minimum is 20 units. For A3 gang sheets, the minimum is 20 sheets. If you only need a small quantity, UltraColour MAX has no minimum order.
Standard PRO transfers are dispatched next business day. PRO with a blocker upgrade (Dye, Sublimation, or Soft Shell) takes 2–3 business days due to the additional production step. For next-day dispatch of Standard PRO, orders must be submitted and artwork approved by 3:00 pm AEST Monday to Thursday, or 1:30 pm AEST on Fridays.
PRO works with most professional heat presses. A quality press with accurate temperature and consistent pressure will give you the best results. We recommend the Hotronix range for precision and consistency — we can help you choose the right press if you need guidance. Do not use an iron to apply UltraColour PRO.
PRO is produced on oversized A3 sheets, so the maximum transfer size is 440 × 300 mm in either orientation. For larger artwork, contact us to discuss options.
