What is a heat press?

A heat press is a device that uses heat and pressure to transfer a design from a special film or vinyl onto another surface, such as a fabric, metal, wood, or glass. A heat press can be used to create customised products, like clothes, mugs, signs, and other accessories. There are different types of heat presses, depending on the shape and size of the surface to be printed on. Some common types are clamshell, swing-away, draw, and vacuum (which we will expand upon further down).

A heat press works by heating the upper platen, which is the part that comes in contact with the design. The lower platen, which holds the surface to be printed on, is either fixed or movable. The user places the design on the surface, aligns it with the upper platen, and closes the heat press flat. The heat and pressure are applied for a specific amount of time, depending on the type of design and surface. The user then separates the platen presses from one another and removes the design paper or vinyl, leaving the design permanently imprinted on the surface.

What are the different types of heat press equipment available from Velflex?

Velflex offers a range of heat presses from the renowned Hotronix and Transmatic brands. Your business can purchase the following types of heat press from Velflex:

Clamshell:

This type of heat press has a hinge between the upper and lower plates, which allows it to open and close like a clamshell. Velflex offers the Hotronix MAXX Manual Clam and the Hotronix STX Auto Clam models, which are compact, affordable, and easy to operate.

Swing-away:

This type of heat press has a swinging upper plate, which can be moved away from the lower plate. It offers more comfort, visibility, and accuracy, as well as the ability to work on materials of all thicknesses. Velflex offers the Hotronix A2Z Swing Away model, which is versatile, efficient, and innovative.

Draw:

This type of heat press has a movable lower plate, which can be pulled out like a drawer. It also provides more comfort, visibility, and accuracy, as well as the option to work on materials of different sizes. Velflex offers the Hotronix Fusion IQ model, which is powerful, reliable, and user-friendly.

Pneumatic:

A pneumatic heat press is a device that uses pressurised air and heat to transfer images, text, or logos onto different materials. The pneumatic system allows for consistent and reliable results, as well as easy adjustment of the pressure. Velflex offers the Hotronix Table Top Air Fusion and the Hotronix Dual Air Fusion models, which are powerful, reliable, and user-friendly.
